Thorold and Beaverdams Historical Museum Open House
Description: Local heritage came to life at an open house for the new Thorold and Beaverdams Historical Museum on September 19. Located in Lock 7 Viewing Complex on Chapel Street South, the museum started to move its collection in May 2014 from Chestnut Hall on Ormond Street into its new venue. Today, local organizations collaborating in the cultural centre include the Ontario Genealogical Society Niagara Chapter, The Friends of Beaverdams Church, Heritage Thorold LACAC and Port Robinson Proud. Visitors can view a refurbished chair from the Tivoli Theatre, a 200-year-old stump from the Indian Direction Tree, among other artifacts.
